American Airlines employees and customers will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the AAdvantage Travel Awards Program at Admirals Clubs across the country on Tuesday, May 15th.
Festivities will include food, giveaways and a prize drawing for free AAdvantage miles.
KA9TAW - Why do you ask difficult questions ?
I would guess Admirals Club beings thats what my email said, but your query makes sense. Maybe both ? ?
Congratulations on the million miles in your own exclusive aircraft. e-Travel Blackboard: American Airlines unveils first phase of new $1.1 :: The Admirals Club provides the comfort that travelers the world over appreciate AAdvantage, the largest and oldest frequent flyer program in the industry today, http://www.etravelblackboard.com/showarticle.asp?id=40435&nav=2&suc=&cid=&email=&news=HOME | Originally posted by Redhead:
It is the 20th (not 25th) anniversary - that agent was wrong. Since AAdvantage began in 1981 - and this is 2001 - that's 20 years. Hence the 20 partners = 20,000 miles
Indeed! Which is why I was so amused when she gave my my souvenir 20th anniversary mint! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
The nice folks at DFW A Say the celebrations start this afternoon. They Knew they were going to have a cake but had no additional information.

Other than some signs in the ORD Admiral's Club (H-K concourse),there was nothing doing. The Flagship Lounge was a fine place to pass 90 minutes. More in an upcoming trip report.
That's great news...another reason to head to ORD early tomorrow before #84 ORD-FRA.
Here's the question, though....I'm in First on this flight...should I head to the flagship lounge or the regular Admiral's Club to join the fun?
For those that care, I dropped by DFW B on my way back into town. The nice people there said that they had cake during the afternoon, but no other celebration, such as a mileage draw or other food. They were giving away individually wrapped 20th anniversary mints.
And one of the nice agents corrected me -- this is the 25th anniversary of AAdvantage, not the 20th, as I had previously believed. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Anyway, if any of you were troubled that you might have missed out, you needn't have worried. The cake was apparently good, but not worth a special trip. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
I'd hit the AC to see what they're doing, and register for any drawings. Then, I'd go to the Flagship lounge for the sushi and good chocolate.
