Wondering if anyone else had this experience:
I signed up for a new Citibank World Amstercard that gave a 10000 mile Aadvantage bonus upon first use (5000 from Citibank and 5000 from Aol). The 5000 from Citibank was deposited within a few weeks, but still no sign of the other 5000 from AOL (now, 10 weeks later).

You can apply for the card at http://www.aolaadvantage.com. The cost is $50/year.

Same thing happened to me. Actually, I think that all 10,000 miles are supposed to come from Citibank. When I only received 5,000 miles, I called Citibank, was told that they would investigate and get back with me, and about 2 weeks later got a letter stating that the extra 5,000 miles would be posted on my next statement (and they were). Mileage vs. $$::

I had BankDirect even before the fees were imposed. They're stinky. They try hard and are very friendly, but their services are back in the stone age. I closed my account.

I signed with with AA citi WorldMastercard without anything to do with AOL and got 10,000 bonus miles credited to my AA acount within 6 weeks. I don't know if this offer is popular now,for I got this offer in the mail, and because I still keep seeing the 5000 bonus miles.

I don't recommend Bankdirect. The monthly fee is outrageous. It's too bad you can't redeem Clickmiles for AOLAAdvantage miles. Otherwise, Brooklinesavings.com would be a nice alternative.
There are several posts on this same problem in this forum under "Any New Citibank/AA Promotions?" thread of 12/21/00. Many of us contacted Citbank via their 800 # on the credit card and dealt with the problem. I got the additional miles on my statement a week ago and I even got some extra http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif (5k that is but who's counting tee hee)..
