Flight Centre NZ recently had an Air NZ seat sale - AKL/WLG/CHC-SYD for NZD$299.00 plus taxes, however, Air NZ direct sales didn't match the fare as it was a Flight Centre exclusive.
Perhaps your friend had better check his ticket!

Now I think about it, from time to time Flight Centre have run SYD-AKL deals on NZ for a similar price... but I agree, it does sound unlikely.

I don't think it's weird, has anyone tried giving flight centre a call lately and seeing if a fare exists? Flightcentre i think do get consignments of cheap flights like this.
